Shotcrete Short Course a Success The DFI Tunneling and Underground Com- mittee hosted a successful Shotcrete Short Course, September 9-11, 2019, at the histor- ical Argo Mill in Idaho Springs, Colorado. This 2.5-day course had 60 attendees and covered engineering, mix designs, materials, equipment, ACI Codes and speci- fications, construction, inspection, QA/QC, and field demonstrations used for civil and geotechnical, underground construction, shaft/tunnel, and mining projects. The course was directed by Ray Henn, Ph.D., RW Henn, and Dan Millette, Mac- Lean Engineering, hosted by Shotcrete Technologies, and supported and spon- sored by companies and practitioners who are leaders in shotcrete practices. Attendees can access course Power- Point presentations by signing in to MyDFI at access to three ACI (American Concrete Institute) shotcrete publications, compli- ments of the Underground Construction Association of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration.
