• Seth Vaidya, P.E., Langan, for serving as the chair of the DFI of India Support Committee, as reviewer and detailed technical support for CFA Imple- mentation Program in India, technical program committee member, reviewer, and session organizer on numerous DFI of India conferences, and for his dedication to and guided preparation of various DFI of India outreach initiatives and successes. Al Ruckman and Bob Barrett with the Bermingham Award Al Ruckman and Bob Barrett, founders of GeoStabilization International, were presented with the 2018 C. William Bermingham Award for Innovation for the Soil Nail Launcher™. The winners donated their $5,000 (CAN) prize to the DFI Educational Trust. Brown presented three President’s Awards at the luncheon. This award is given at the discretion of the DFI President to recognize the efforts and service of DFI members to advance the work of DFI. This year’s awards were presented to: • Antonio Marinucci, Ph.D., MBA, P.E., V2C Strategists, for being an active member of numerous DFI technical committees, past secretary of the DFI Ground Improvement Committee, co- author of the “ACIP Piles Installation and Demonstration Project Report,” exe- cutive editor of Deep Foundations maga- zine, and consistently volunteering to help with technical projects and reviews. • Matthew Meyer, P.E., D.GE, Langan, for serving as the trustee liaison for both the Augered Cast-in-Place Pile and Drilled Displacement Pile Committee and Working Platforms Industry-Wide Working Group, drafting an ACIP Pile design specification for the AASHTO T15 committee, organizing the review and feedback on draft Florida DOT specifications for ACIP Piles for Bridges, serving as a reviewer on the Committee Project Fund Review Committee, and for always providing a pragmatic clear vision and plan for accomplishing tasks. There were three winners of Exhibitor Bingo a: Rakshya Shrestha of JAFEC USA won the first place prize of free regis- tration to the 2019 DFI Annual Con- ference in Chicago, Allison Paraense of F&W Construction Co. won the $250 second place prize and Andrew Yeskoo, a student at UC Berekely, won the $100 third place prize. The winners of the “Stay ’Til the End” raffle were Melissa Beauregard of the United States Air Force Academy winning a Fit Bit, President’s Award winners: Tony Marinucci, Matt Meyer and Seth Vaidya Linda Hartley of QSP Packers winning a Kindle Fire and John Berry of Matrix taking the top prize, Bose headphones. This year’s Mobile App Game winner was Kwabena Ofori-Awuah of KCI Technologies, who won a free conference registration for the 2019 DFI Annual Conference in Chicago.
