INVITATION TO SPEAKERS AND CALL FOR ABSTRACTS Technical committees of DFI and ADSC are combining their industry expertise to organize SuperPile ’18. This three-day event includes presentations on the latest developments in augered cast- in-place/drilled displacement piles, drilled shafts, driven piles, ground improvement, helical piles and tiebacks, marine foundations, micropiles, testing and evaluation of foundation systems, and seismic and lateral loads. Invited and selected presentations will highlight advance- ments, innovations and challenges in design and construction of deep foundations, particularly related to piling solutions. Presentations that highlight recommended practices for project safety and resiliency from design through construction are encouraged, in addition to national and international case histories/topics relevant to the New York, New Jersey and New England areas. Panel discussions on current topics will provide attendees opportunities to share new ideas and industry experience. Equipment, material and instrumentation suppliers, contractors, engineers, and other vendors will present their services in the Exhibit Hall. Proposal Submission DFI is soliciting presentations for SuperPile ’18 on the following topics: • Augered Cast-in-Place and Drilled Displacement Piles • Drilled Shafts • Driven Piles • Ground Improvement (related to piling) • Helical Piles and Tiebacks • Marine Foundations • Micropiles • Seismic and Lateral Loads • Testing and Evaluation Topics and case histories, including (but not limited to): • Innovations and advancements in pile design and installation • Working platforms • Corrosion of buried structures • Designing and constructing for safety • Designing for resiliency • Instrumentation, load testing, monitoring • Extreme or unexpected loading conditions (inclement weather, flooding, seismic) • Optimization of pile designs for cost effectiveness • Contractual practices Deadline: Friday, January 12, 2018 Potential speakers for SuperPile ’18 should submit a brief abstract (up to 300 words) describing the content of their proposed presentations to [email protected] by Friday, January 12, 2018.
