DFI India Conference — A Success Conference delegates DFI of India hosted a successful international conference — Deep Foundation Technologies for Infrastructure Development in India during September 19-20, 2014, at IIT Delhi. The third annual conference was organized jointly by DFI of India, the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) Delhi Chapter and the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC). The Technical Exhibition was opened by James Morrison, past president of DFI. Eighteen companies specializing in deep founda- tions participated in the exhibition. The conference was well attended by 200 delegates, including more than 100 delegates from industry. Following the densely-packed technical sessions, the conference finished with a session chaired by Dr. K.S. Rama Krishna, chairman of DFI of India. Nine international and 7 national eminent engineers presented keynote lectures on important deep foundation topics. Over 40 peer- reviewed papers were presented in 10 plenary sessions and 30 parallel sessions. The major highlight of the conference was that more than 80% of papers presented were on current field practices and solutions for challenging projects.
