This conference is intended to promote all aspects of deep foundations, earth retention and ground improvement works. The technical program is currently being developed, but tentative topics include: nd • Design and construction solutions to foundation problems • Innovative site investigation methods and techniques • Ground improvement for structural support and retention works • Testing of foundations • Developments and innovations in construction equipment, methods and materials • Potential environmental and structural impact of piling work on adjacent structures • Case studies with lessons learned • Structural, geotechnical and construction interaction for project success • Infrastructure works projects from PPPs, government authorities, builders, consultants and contractors • Effective specifications related to performance and materials www.dfi.org/PFSF2020 International Symposium for Offshore Geotechnics The 4 International Symposium on Frontiers in Offshore Geotechnics (ISFOG) is being held at the University of Texas at Austin on August 16-19, 2020. This symposia follows prior events in Oslo, Norway (2015) and Perth, Australia (2010 and 2005). DFI and Geo-Institute of ASCE are co-managing the event under the auspices th Deep Mixing 2020 community, is hosting the 7 conference in a series on deep mixing, June 15-18, 2020, in Gdańsk, Poland. Deep Mixing 2020 — Best Practice and Legacy is aimed at defining the future of deep mixing and transferring the charge of advancing the industry to the next generation of practitioners. The technical program will include presentations on all aspects of current deep mixing technology and research and will provide a forum for discussion with all stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, researchers, equipment and material suppliers, and owners. Conference co-chairs are Professor Michał Topolnicki, Ph.D., Keller Poland, and Professor George Filz, Ph.D., Virginia Tech, U.S. DFI, in conjunction with leaders in the international deep mixing th of ISSMGE Technical Committee 309 on Offshore Geotechnics. th The symposium features the 5 McClelland Lecture and strives to continue providing a specialist forum for practitioners and academics to share solutions and new ideas that address the dynamic challenges of working in offshore design and installation. ISFOG 2020 will highlight emerging technologies related to data science and emphasizes the recent surges in offshore renewables development in the U.S. and globally. Technical topics include: • Site characterization – geotechnical testing and modelling, inte- grated studies, geohazards, sediment mobility and scour • Offshore oil, gas and wind energy facilities – foundations, mono- piles, jack-ups, moorings, anchors, pipelines, risers, wells, cables, subsea systems, numerical modelling, case studies, cyclic loading DEEP FOUNDATIONS • MAY/JUNE 2019 • 45 Abstracts are being solicited for technical papers addressing frontiers of soil mixing related to the following topics: • Laboratory mixing and material testing • Properties of treated soil materials (binders, durability, material models) • Analyses and design procedures (methodology, modeling, recommendations, codes) • Contracting strategy/specifications/practice • Field testing and performance monitoring (measurements, long-term data) • Mixing equipment and construction technologies • Quality control and quality assurance • Environmental mixing and related research • Liquefaction mitigation with mixing (analyses, experience) • Case histories with lessons learned The deadline for submission of abstracts is Monday, June 24, 2019.
