Professor Samuel Paikowsky, University of Mass- achusetts Lowell, delivered the Osterberg Lecture on “Capacity Testing of Deep Foundations: Successes and Pitfalls.” Robert Mast, P.E., S.E., BergerABAM, and Arthur R. Anderson, Sc.D., Concrete Technology Corp. (posthumous), were presented with the Ben C. Gerwick for Innovation in the Design and Construction of Marine Foundations for the dev- elopment and use of precast concrete piles for marine foundations. Day two of the technical program Osterberg Lecturer Professor Samuel Paikowsky consisted of two parallel sessions on augered cast-in-place piles, drilled shafts, driven piles, micropiles, seismic and lateral loading, and helical piles and tiebacks.
