Tyler Stephens joined Shannon & Wilson in 1999 as a geotechnical engineer, and has worked exten- sively with the firm’s Rail- road Services Group for more than six years. His projects include tunnel rehabilitation, rock slope stability, rock slope design, landslides, embankment failures and bridge foundations. Wayne Fjotland has been p r omo t e d t o v i c e president at Moretrench. Fjotland has more than 36 years of geotechnical construction management experience. He joined Moretrench as manager of field operations in 2001 and became northeast geotec regional manager in 2015. In addition to serving Moretrench in a corporate capacity, Fjotland continues to oversee the company’s geotechnical operations in the greater New York Metro area, New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania. GZA announced that Gregory Griffin, an assis- tant project manager in its Bedford, N.H. office, has achieved a designation as a Certified Hazardous Mater- ials Manager (CHMM). Griffin has been with GZA for 12 years, and specializes in environ- mental regulatory compliance, hazardous waste management, wastewater and storm water permitting, compliance reporting and environmental monitoring. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in chemical engineering, and is a member of the Boston Section of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. GZA also announced that Benjamin Sallemi, a senior project manager in its Fairfield, N.J., office has become a Certified Indus- trial Hygienist. Sallemi has been with GZA for eight years. He received his Ph.D. in Environmental Science from The Graduate Center at City University of New York. He also holds certifications as a New York City Asbestos Investigator, and New York State Asbestos Inspector, Project Monitor and Mold Assessor. Sallemi is a member of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Industrial Hygiene Association. Menard Group USA pro- moted Jason Griffin, Chris Parinella and Aaron Gold- berg to vice president. Jason Griffin, P.G., was promoted to vice presi- dent of sales after three years as director of sales. He will be taking a stronger leadership role for the sales team, as it continues to grow and open new offices around the country. Chris Parinella is now the vice president of operations, with new responsibilities related to an increasing number of projects, project managers and equipment. Aaron Goldberg, P.E., D.GE, is now vice president of sales and engineering of U.S. Wick Drain. He has been with the company since Menard Group USA acquired US Wick Drain in 2012. Brierley Associates has expanded into the Mid-Atlantic/Southeast region and opened an office in Norfolk, Va., under the man- agement of David (Dave) Sackett, P.G., who has more than 30 years of domestic and international experience as a geoscientist. He is a licensed profes- sional geologist in Virginia and Texas, and holds a certified professional geologist designation issued by the American Institute of Professional Geologists. Sackett has been responsible for the acquisition and manage- ment of geological interpretations of high- resolution marine geophysical data, near- shore and landside site characterization, planning and execution of integrated geo- technical investigations, preparation of geo- logical and geotechnical reports and tech- nical reviews in English and Spanish.
