Chris McCune was promoted to service manager at ECA Pittsburgh after working as a service technician at the branch since 2016. McCune’s background in foundation and directional drilling combined with his professionalism in dealing with customers made him the best choice for this role. McCune’s goal is to mentor younger employees and current technicians to help them follow the same successful path he followed. Peter Kassaris was promoted to service manager at ECA Canada Company. Through hard work and dedication, he was promoted to the senior technician role within 15 months of being hired. Kassaris had already amassed 8 years of experience in the foundation construction industry when he came to ECA Canada in September 2017. He aims to build the best service department in the Canadian foundation construction industry. Trey Carver was promoted to service manager at ECA Florida. Carver joined the team as a technician in 2015 and worked his way up from technician to foreman to service manager of ECA Jacksonville in February 2019. Carver strives to maintain strong customer relations through professionalism and exceptional customer service, and aspires to build a strong, self- sufficient service department capable of handling any potential issue ECA’s customers might encounter. Kevin “Buddy” Austin was promoted to service manager at ECA Washington. He began his career at ECA in 2011 as a service technician and quickly advanced into the lead technician role. Austin’s motivation, professionalism and dedication to both customers and fellow employees resulted in his promotion. He has become the go-to- guy for all questions regarding KLEMM because of his specialized technical knowledge of this product line. Numa announced the appointment of Mark Stickney as chief financial officer (CFO) and Gregg Hayes as business development and product manager of Numa’s horizontal directional drilling (HDD) products. Stickney, who previ- ously was a senior cost accountant for Numa in the late 1990s, wi l l succeed Joe Tokarz, who served as CFO for over 30 years and retired in April 2019. Stickney is a finance leader with a proven track record of driving performance and process improvements in highly diversified manufacturing businesses. He brings over 25 years of top-level financial experience and leadership to the organization. Prior to joining Numa, Stickney served in various finance and accounting management roles and then as director of finance worldwide for Saint-Gobain Ceramics & Plastics. He received MBA and B.S. degrees in accounting from the Nichols College. Hayes is a recognized expert in HDD and comes to Numa with 20 years of experience in the drilling industry. For the past 5 years, he was a top HDD salesperson, selling into multiple U.S. markets while also focusing on the further development of horizontal rock drilling products. Previously, he served in various sales and management roles for companies selling tooling, drilling fluids, bits, reamers, rock tools, swivels, etc. Thomas P. O’Dwyer, P.E., has joined McMillen Jacobs as a principal and tunnel ventilation/fire life safety practice leader and is based in the New York office. O’Dwyer will be leading tunnel ventilation design and analysis on tunnel design, rehabilitation/upgrade, and construction projects. He is a licensed P.E. in New York with 27 years of experience in design and analysis of transit and road tunnel ventilation systems, tunnel i n s p e c t i o n , c omp u t e r mo d e l programming, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), Subway Environment Simulat ion (SES) , HVAC des ign, construction management, and training. He earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from The Cooper Union and an MBA in management from Baruch College. O’Dwyer’s extensive tunnel ventilation experience has included several major vehicular, transit, and rail tunnels, including the CFD and SES analysis and design of Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Agency’s Regional Connector, Westside Extension of the Purple Line, and Gold Line Eastside Extension; and the conceptual study and preliminary analysis of Metro Transportation Authority/New York City Transit’s No. 7 Subway Line Extension. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including National Fire Protection Association, where he is a member of the NFPA 130 committee; and American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, where he is a corresponding member of TC 5.9: Enclosed Vehicular Facilities. Schnabel Engineering announced that Brian K. Banks, PG, principal, was appointed to lead the firm’s transportation business. Based out of Wilmington, N.C., Banks will focus on leveraging Schnabel’s transportation experience and expertise to grow its transportation business. Banks’ relocation allows him to work more closely with the southern offices to increase transportation presence in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Texas, as he continues to coordinate the transportation efforts across the firm. Banks has 23 years of geo-engineering consulting experience and has been with Schnabel for 16 years. While at Schnabel, he has served as branch leader, board director, and senior project manager for a wide variety of large, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects around the world. Banks has also been heavily involved in the American Council of Engineering Companies of Metropolitan Washington, serving as vice president (current), board director and chair of the transportation committee.
