2020 Events DFI I PILING AND FOUNDATION SPECIALISTS FEDERATION ® Piling & Ground Improvement Conference 2020 March 23-25, 2020| Sydney, Australia DFI-PFSF Conference The 2 DFI-PFSF Piling & Ground Improvement Conference is taking place March 23-25, 2020, in Sydney, Australia. nd This conference is intended to promote all aspects of the deep foundations, earth retention and ground improvement works. The program is in development, but the following topics are expected: • Design and construction solutions to foundation problems • Ground improvement for structural support and retention works • Innovative site investigation methods and techniques • Testing of foundations • Developments and innovations in construction equipment, methods and materials • Potential environmental and structural impact of piling work on adjacent structures • Case studies with lessons learned • Structural, geotechnical and construction interaction for project success • Infrastructure works projects from PPPs, government authorities, builders, consultants and contractors • Effective specifications related to performance and materials www.dfi.org/PFSF2020 International Symposium for Offshore Geotechnics Registration is open for the 4 International Symposium on Frontiers in Offshore Geotechnics (ISFOG). The event follows the previous symposia in Oslo, Norway (2015) and Perth, Australia (2010 and 2005). DFI and Geo-Institute of ASCE are co-managing the event under the auspices of ISSMGE Technical Committee 309 on Offshore Geotechnics. The symposium provides a specialist forum for practitioners and academics to share solutions and new ideas that address the dynamic challenges of working in offshore design and installation. ISFOG 2020 highlights emerging technologies related to data science and emphasizes the recent surges in offshore renewables development in the U.S. and globally. th Here are a few more reasons to attend: • Most prestigious niche conference event focused on offshore Deep Mixing 2020 — Best Practice and Legacy community, is hosting the 7 conference in a series on deep mixing, June 15-18, 2020, in Gdańsk, Poland. Deep Mixing 2020 — Best Practice and Legacy is aimed at defining the future of deep mixing and transferring the charge of advancing the industry to the next generation of practitioners. The technical program will include presentations on all aspects of current deep mixing technology and research and will provide a forum for discussion with all stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, researchers, equip- ment and material suppliers, and owners. The program is being formulated from received abstracts on the following topics: • Laboratory mixing and material testing • Properties of treated soil materials (binders, durability, material models) DFI, in conjunction with leaders in the international deep mixing th • 5 McClelland Lecture geotechnics th • Network with colleagues and new connections • Close proximity to Houston, the global center of marine energy • Learn about the latest cutting-edge developments in and solutions for offshore geotechnical challenges • Intimate settings to facilitate discussions Join us at the University of Texas at Austin, August 16-19, 2020. www.dfi.org/ISFOG2020 Save the Dates for Other DFI Events in 2020 • SuperPile ’20 • June 3-5, 2020 • St. Louis, Mo. • S3: Slopes, Slides and Stabilization August 4-6, 2020 • San Francisco, Calif. • 45 Annual Conference on Deep Foundations October 13-16, 2020 • National Harbor, Md. th DEEP FOUNDATIONS • JULY/AUG 2019 • 45 • Analyses and design procedures (methodology, modeling, recommendations, codes) • Contracting strategy/specifications/practice • Field testing and performance monitoring (measurements, long-term data) • Environmental mixing and related research • Mixing equipment and construction technologies • Quality control and quality assurance • Case histories with lessons learned • Liquefaction mitigation with mixing (analyses, experience) www.dfi.org/DM2020 O T N A S D I N N U S T O I F T U E P T E E D
