Over 550 attendees enjoyed SuperPile ’18 at the New York Marriott Marquis in hustling-bustling New York City’s Time Square. The three-day annual event, from June 27-29, was hosted in partnership with ADSC and supported by 10 DFI Technical Committees: Augered Cast-in-Place Piles, Drilled Shafts, Driven Piles, Ground Improvement, Helical Piles and Tiebacks, Marine Foundations, Micropiles, Seismic and Lateral Loads, Testing and Evaluation, and Women in Deep Foundations (WiDF). The conference featured 45 technical presentations on all aspects of pile design and construction with a focus on incor- porating safety and risk practices through- out project delivery. The exhibit hall featured 89 exhibitors showcasing their innovative technologies and services. On Wednesday evening, DFI’s WiDF Committee hosted a social networking reception at The Haven Rooftop at the Sanctuary Hotel. Johnna Emanuel, E.I.T., Moretrench, presented the company’s Female Engineers at Moretrench (FEM) program aimed at supporting women in the company. Moretrench, Menard and others generously supported the event, and the proceeds from the event benefit the DFI Educational Trust Women in Deep Foun- dations Fund. Andrew Burns, P.E., Underpinning & Foundation Skanska, chaired this successful conference and led the program committee.
