MHWirth pile top drill rigs (PBAs) are supporting the boom in India’s infra- structure. These rigs provide solid foun- dations for onshore and offshore construc- tion and are currently being used for one of India’s flagship projects, the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL). Five Wirth PBA 818 rigs are currently in operation at the MTHL project, where they are drilling around 1,100 piles with diameters of about 1,750 and 2,150 mm (69 and 85 in) and depths of up to 50 m (164 ft). The MTHL will be a 21.8 km (13.6 mi) long road bridge, con- necting the city of Mumbai with Navi Mumbai, its satellite city. The former Mühlhäuser-Obermann based in Michelstadt has been part of the BAUER Group since November 1, 2019. In the future, the company will be operating under the new name Obermann MAT. Alexander Konz, branch manager of BAUER MAT Slurry Handling Systems, a branch com- pany of BAUER Maschinen, is responsible for the management. The company, which was founded in 1974 in Odenwald, has nearly 50 years of experience in specialist foundation engineering. The Obermann portfolio includes injection pumps, mixers and jet grouting pumps. Obermann products will now exclusively be sold via BAUER MAT Slurry Handling Systems. Liebherr has released its first augmented reality (AR) app, Liebherr AR Experience, which brings virtual construction sites to life. All that is required is an AR-enabled smartphone or tablet.
