These rigs provide solid foun- dations for onshore and offshore construc- tion and are currently being used for one of India’s flagship projects, the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL). Five Wirth PBA 818 rigs are currently in operation at the MTHL project, where they are drilling around 1,100 piles with diameters of about 1,750 and 2,150 mm (69 and 85 in) and depths of up to 50 m (164 ft). The MTHL will be a 21.8 km (13.6 mi) long road bridge, con- necting the city of Mumbai with Navi Mumbai, its satellite city. The former Mühlhäuser-Obermann based in Michelstadt has been part of the BAUER Group since November 1, 2019. In the future, the company will be operating under the new name Obermann MAT.
