DFI ACTIVITIES DFI Educational Trust Update David Coleman, Chair [email protected] scholarship program or for special projects designed to further the mission of the Trust. Finally, we are committed to A fter a most productive 2012, during which the Trust expanded its scholarship program to two additional engineering schools, we have now begun working on an ambitious set of goals for 2013. The board has approved the establish- ment of an At Large Scholarship Program, which, rather than having a standing award for students at a particular university, will accept applications from students attend- ing institutions all across the country. Procedures for application and selection will be announced later this spring. A major goal of the Trust for 2013 is expanding the size and scope of the Board of Trustees. The board feels very strongly that, in order to increase the Trust’s governance and fundraising capabilities, it must identify members with a wide variety of professional skills and backgrounds, and from different, albeit related, industries. A board composed of members with diverse constituencies and circles of influence will greatly contribute to the Trust’s expansion. Recognizing that many companies in our industry have established philanthropic programs, the Trust will, this year, formally reach out to some of these companies to solicit grant funding, be it for the continue working on increasing support for all of our fundraising events, in particular for some of t h e n ewe s t efforts, such as the DFI Educational Trust and ACE Mentor Program of NJ Annual Golf Outing in N.J., so that increased net proceeds result in the Trust’s programs con- tinuing to expand. We look forward to your continued support. New Treasurer A board composed of members with diverse constituencies and circles of influence will greatly contribute to the Trust’s expansion.
