Slurry Wall Seminar: Diaphragm Wall in Urban Environment – July 26, 2012 Join us in Dearborn, Mi., for a one-day Slurry Wall seminar at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn. The event features lectures by industry experts on the design, construction and maintenance of diaphragm walls for top-down, cut-and-cover, access shafts and deep basement projects and in urban environments. There will be eight presentations on projects in New York City, Boston, Washington, DC, Turin, Monaco and Hong Kong. The Use of Deep Foundations for Landslides/Slope Stabilization – August 14-15, 2012 Plan to be in Nashville, Tenn., for this 1.5 day seminar featuring presentations by industry experts on current technologies, as well as key design concepts and case histories that illustrate effective application of deep foundations for stabilization of landslides/slopes. The goal is to present recent and future projects which include challenging slope and landslide repairs with deep foundation methods from owner perspectives and to have contractors and engineers present new or recent techniques, design and case histories. Presentations will highlight the technical and economic advantages as well as long term maintenance. Exhibit space is available. Drilled Shafts: Top to Bottom – September 12-13, 2012 This year’s ADSC-DFI Joint Drilled Shaft Seminar will be held in Denver, Colo., and includes a wide range of topics presented by a solid list of speakers, including Dan Brown, Silas Nichols, John Turner, Vince Jue, Paul Macklin, Mark Vessely, John McCartney, John Hart and Tom Hart. DFI India Conference: Latest Developments in Deep Foundation Technologies Relevant to Indian Infrastructure Development – September 17-20, 2012 The DFI India committee in conjunction with the Indian Institute of Technology at Madras (IITM) and the Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) Chennai Chapter will hold a conference at the state- of-the-art conference facilities at the scenic IIT – Chennai Campus, Chennai, India. The program comprises a one-day workshop titled, “Design and Construction of Diaphragm Walls, and Contiguous and Secant Pile Walls” led by leading international design and construction experts, followed by a two-day conference consisting of four DEEP FOUNDATIONS • JULY/AUG 2012 • 33 sessions covering driven pile, drilled pile and deep excavation support systems as well as ground improvement techniques. Each session will feature two keynote lectures – one presented by an industry leader from India and the other presented by an international expert. Session speakers will cover QA/QC techniques, equipment advances and case histories. The conference attendees will also be able to take advantage of an informative half-day field visit to the landmark Chennai Metro project site on the last day. DFI-CSCE Annual Fall Seminar – September 21, 2012 This annual seminar will be held in Meriden, Conn., at the Four Points by Sheraton on the topic of Forensic Geotechnical Engineer- ing. Five speakers will present related topics including a keynote lecture by Professor Norbert J.
